Rachel's Weekly Words #1

Love is stronger than hate. Do not overcome hate with hate or evil with evil. In Romans 12:21 it says, "Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."

Also, in Romans 12:19 it says, "Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God's wrath." To love someone, though, is harder than to hate someone. Is it not easier to hate a stubborn, mean person than to love them? No, it is by far easier to hate them. Yet, we are all sinners and no one is righteous, but Jesus died for us and loved us. God's love for us is greater than all the love in the world. The Bible tells us to love everyone. Does it say, "love your friends only? Love the nice people only?" No, it says to love everyone. And that's huge. I am working on loving everyone.

You can show some of God's love by being nice to people. Think about it this way. If you told people you were Christian, would they be shocked, or would they say, "yeah, that seems right." Practice hospitality. This week, I encourage everyone to love one another, no matter who they are.
